The 8 days Lemosho route is a longer version of the 7 days Lemosho route, which allows for more time to acclimatize and increases the chances of reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trek starts on the western side of the mountain and goes through lush rainforests, across the Shira Plateau, and under Kilimanjaro's Southern Ice Field on the Southern Circuit. The route then meets up with the Machame route and continues to the summit of Kilimanjaro, which is a challenging yet rewarding climb. The descent takes you through the rainforest zone, where you may see some wildlife. The extra day on the 8 days Lemosho route is spent at Karanga Camp, which allows for more time to rest and acclimatize before the final ascent to the summit.
