Animals migrate in Serengeti for a variety of reasons, including finding better grazing and water sources, avoiding harsh weather conditions, and following seasonal breeding patterns. The most famous migration in Serengeti involves wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles moving in a circular pattern around the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of fresh grass.During the dry season, the herds move southward to the short-grass plains of the southern Serengeti, where the grass is still green and nutritious. The migration, therefore, provides a vital source of food for predators, allowing them to survive in the harsh conditions of the Serengeti.
