The route start at londorosi gate just 3 hours away from the bounty town of Moshi, from there it goes through the rain forest area where some wildlife can be spotted there. The route proceeds to moir hut; the best place for acclimatization by hiking the lent hills, the next stop is in lava tower before a slight descent to barranco valley, there after there is the intimidating barranco wall that leads to karanga and the barafu hut. Summit always starts from the barafu camp and descent will follow the mweka trail.
