The Huasco Valley offers a wide range of artistic expressions that are based on the natural, historical and cultural characteristics of the environment.
During this tour we’ll be introduced to the world of jewelry smithing – a craft with identitary seal in a valley where artisanal mining and metallurgy
form a fundamental part of local history.
In the secluded and tiny little village of Pinte located in the picturesque ravine of the same name that stands out for its multicoloured montains, its
strange geological formations and its varied paletological vestiges, you become the creator of your own copper-jewel during a workshop with Iván
Torres, a Diaguita craftsman. Further we’ll visit in this magical place the small paleontological museum, the idyllic village square and during our stay
you’ll have the posibility to peck and drink diverse delicious tipical products of this fertile desert valley.
As the night falls over the valley, we focus our views on this Atacama night sky– widely recognized for its privileged atmospheric conditions.
Outside the urban center of Vallenar, you can enjoy a firmament that impresses at plain sight.
Assisted by a local astronomic entrepreneur with extensive knowledge you can not only observe the celestial bodies up close using profesional
equipment, but also learn about cosmic events and the relation inbetween astronomy and the local indigenous worldview
