7 Days Machame Route
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania and transfer to Moshi or Arusha. Meet with your tour operator and guide for a pre-trek briefing, equipment check, and last-minute preparations. Rest and acclimatize at the hotel.

Day 2: Drive to the Machame Gate (1,800m/5,905ft) to begin your trek on the Machame Route. Hike through the lush rainforest for about 5-7 hours, reaching Machame Camp (3,010m/9,875ft) where you'll spend the night amidst the dense vegetation and impressive wildlife.

Day 3: Ascend to the Shira Camp (3,845m/12,615ft) through moorland terrain. Trek for approximately 4-6 hours, gaining altitude and experiencing stunning views of the Shira Plateau. Rest at the camp and acclimatize.

Day 4: Continue the climb towards the Lava Tower (4,640m/15,223ft) and then descend to the Barranco Camp (3,950m/12,960ft). This day's trek takes around 6-8 hours, passing through alpine desert landscapes and the Barranco Wall. The campsite is nestled in a valley beneath the imposing cliffs.

Day 5: Hike from Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035m/13,200ft), which typically takes 4-5 hours. The trail offers breathtaking scenery and helps further with acclimatization. Rest at Karanga Camp in preparation for the summit push.

Day 6: Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,640m/15,223ft), a challenging 3-4 hour hike. This is your base camp for the summit attempt. Rest and have an early dinner before getting some sleep ahead of the midnight start.

Day 7: Summit Day! Begin the challenging ascent to the Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) around midnight. Reach the summit at sunrise, and celebrate your accomplishment. Descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue to Mweka Camp (3,100m/10,170ft) for the final night on the mountain.

Day 8: Descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m/5,380ft). Say farewell to your mountain crew and receive your summit certificates. Transfer back to Moshi or Arusha for a well-deserved celebration and rest.
