The Serengeti Wildebeest migration safari. How, What, Where and When
The Great Migration, a mesmerizing natural spectacle, involves over a million animals journeying through the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of sustenance and water. Led by wildebeest, the migration follows a circular route from calving grounds in Tanzania's Serengeti to Kenya's Masai Mara and back, a cyclical odyssey of birth, predation, and renewal. This dynamic interplay between life and death underscores the profound rhythm of nature, captivating the hearts of wildlife enthusiasts with its enduring narrative of survival and the relentless circle of life.

What

The Great Migration is a remarkable natural phenomenon, marked by the colossal movement of over 1.2 million wildebeest and 300,000 zebra, alongside topi and gazelle, across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in a ceaseless quest for nourishment and water. This awe-inspiring procession, visible even from space due to its sheer scale of up to 1,000 animals per km2, demonstrates the dance of survival as wildebeest traverse 800 to 1,000km along age-old routes, challenged by relentless predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, and crocodiles.

How

The Great Migration maintains its dynamic momentum year-round, with wildebeest calving and river crossings amidst the constant quest to elude predators. The migration's location varies throughout the year, offering distinct spectacles.
