2 Day Chimpanzee Safari Uganda
Budongo Forest reserve is located in Murchison falls national park and it covers an area of 793 sq. kilometers and 53% of this area is a forest and the rest of the area is grassland. This forest reserve harbors a variety of wildlife species including; 465 species of trees, 24 species of mammals, 9 primate species, 289 butterfly species, 359 bird species as well as 130 moth species. The forest is also commonly known for the mahogany trees and chimpanzees and these are between 600 to700 chimpanzees. There are 6 groups of chimpanzees that are habituated for trekking and throughout the year, the visitors have high chances of seeing these primates. The activity starts at exactly at 7:00am and the guides will take you around as you search for these unique primates which share 98% of their DNA with the humans. The activity might take 30 minutes or all the day depending on where they are located on a specific day. Only children who are seven years and above are allowed to track the chimpanzees and the groups are limited to only 6 people per group.

Day 1 : Transfer to Budongo Forest Reserve
Early in the morning after breakfast, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to Budongo forest. You will check in at your choice of accommodation. The forest reserve is found near Murchison Falls National Park which is the largest national park in Uganda.

Day 2 : Chimpanzee trekking in the forest
Enjoy breakfast in the morning at your lodge and after proceed for a chimpanzee trek, this experience takes between 3 to 6 hours as you search for these wonderful primates.
