Day 1: Moshi/Arusha to Londorossi Gate (2,250m/7,380ft) to Forest Camp (2,750m/9,022ft)
Transfer from Moshi/Arusha to the Londorossi Gate. Complete registration and formalities before starting the hike. Trek through the lush rainforest to reach Forest Camp. Trekking time: 3-4 hours.
Day 2: Forest Camp to Shira Camp 1 (3,500m/11,480ft)
Continue trekking through the rainforest, gradually entering the heather zone. Reach Shira Camp 1, offering stunning views of the Shira Plateau. Trekking time: 5-6 hours.
Day 3: Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2 (3,840m/12,600ft)
Ascend through the moorland, passing the giant Senecio trees. Arrive at Shira Camp 2, situated near the Shira Cathedral. Trekking time: 4-5 hours.
Day 4: Shira Camp 2 to Lava Tower (4,630m/15,190ft) to Barranco Camp (3,950m/12,960ft)
Hike to the Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. Pass through the alpine desert, enjoying panoramic views along the way. Trekking time: 6-7 hours.
